Back at Barre

{throws hands in the air, looks towards the heavens and shouts} TGIF!

This may have been the longest week ever. I think everyone picked this week, and only this week, to squeeze in every single event. I had a big event for work on Wednesday – an open house for a redevelopment project my clients are doing on a condo building that has been empty since the Great Recession. The party was in the unfinished penthouse with rose and amazing views. It ended up turning out well but anytime I work on an event I get massive anxiety that something, anything, everything is going to go astray. There were some minor hiccups but all in all, it went off without a hitch.

Then last night I stopped into the Louisville Film Festival screening of the movie Le Ride which was pretty cool. If you’re a Netflix documentary junkie like me, you’ll want to put this on your radar. It’s by Phil Keoghan – aka the host of The Amazing Race –  and it follows he and a friend as they recreate the ride of the first English speaking team in the  1928 Tour de France. They showed it on an IMAX screen which made the views of French countryside even more beautiful.

The most fun night of the week though was the Pure Barre free class on Tuesday. Big thanks to everyone that came out. Definitely would love to try and do another one, maybe in the winter. Let me know in the comments if you’re interested.

Taking a deep breath this morning before finishing off the week at the Louisville football game (I know, I am missing Big Blue Madness but that’s why there is DVR and they don’t serve beer at Rupp #sorryimnotsorry). Then I’m planning on being lazy for the rest of the weekend. Well, after the Dr. Mark Lynn Stampede for VIPS 5k that our office is running/walking in to support a client –  seriously ALL the events this week.

So it’s pretty obvious that I’ve been sneaking in a little retail therapy with my workouts at Pure Barre. It’s been tough trying to make it to the mall lately but I’ve been feeling pretty ‘meh’ about most of my workout clothes.

I went a little ham on their sale section the other day and then splurged on this strappy tank – I’m obsessed, seriously trying to create outfits around it – and these high waisted leggings. I can’t live with the lower band anymore so these are a godsend. They add new gear weekly so it can get dangerous every time I’m in there. Also if you spot something you love but they don’t have it in your size, they can probably find it at another studio and bring it over. So next time you’re in, you can grab it. Enabling? Yes, a little. Convenient? Definitely and that’s pretty much the magic word for me. athleisure-fitness-outfit_1456athleisure-fitness-outfit_1458Photos by Danielle Martin – Chapter 25 Photography
