Styling: Blown Away at Fusion Salon & Spa

I’m horrible at doing hair. I lack the hand-eye coordination (and patience) that makes people amazing at achieving the perfect style. That’s why nine times out of ten you’ll find me with my hair pulled in a ponytail.

This causes me to have a major case of hair envy 99% of the time. Any time I’m at {a wedding, party, out to dinner, hanging poolside} I spot someone and jealously eye their ability to look totally put together. So when I heard that the blow-dry bar concept had FINALLY made it’s way to Kentucky, I was hype. I’m perfectly willing to shell out a little cash to ensure my hair looks nice the entire night and isn’t relegated to a ponytail within 20 minutes of arriving.  The Voice-Tribune’s Best Dressed Event seemed like the perfect time to give it a try so I booked my appointment at Fusion Salon & Spa in Westport Village.

They have a few styles to choose from – I asked for a mix of the Cosmo (lots of loose curls) & Mai Tai (messy beachy waves). In retrospect, I wish I’d brought along a picture of what I wanted to achieve but in the end, I was really happy with how it came out.

The adorable Whitney gave me the best shampoo head massage I’ve ever had and then went about getting me all fixed up. She also made me feel a little better about my unintentional ombre hair that I need to fix as soon as I have 4 hours to dedicate to an appointment.

Don’t you just love her peplum skirt?

The entire process took about an hour since I have crazy thick hair so I’m sure it would take less time if your hair is a little easier {read: less time consuming} to blow dry. The blow outs are $35 and you can add on the spectacular head massage for $10 (so worth it). BONUS: In September, Fusion is offering $10 off your first blow-out.

Fusion Salon & Spa is located in Westport Village; make an appointment by calling 502.429.9476 or you can book through their Facebook page. Or just walk-in whenever your heart desires. Oh and make sure to tell them * Lou What Wear * sent you!

Oh and in case you were wondering, here’s a look at the finished product!

Fine print: I was not paid or perked for doing this post. I just had a great experience at Fusion and thought I’d share it with you all!
