Favorite Things: Pretty Little Liars * Summer Finale Fashion

Seriously, Pretty Little Liars last night was ridiculous. And by ridiculous, I mean crazy amazing. Sorry to get all fan girl on everyone but this show is my obsession and I cannot get enough of it.The fact that it’s wildly inappropriate for ABC Family and they are doing stuff no high school-er should be doing may be what makes me love it even more. Don’t judge.

Last night was the summer finale and it did not disappoint. I had to dodge a million spoilers since I watched it late and in case you haven’t watched yet or have yet to start watching (you need to), I won’t ruin anything by spilling the big reveal. Instead, I’ll focus on the fashion which is only one of the many reasons I gush over this show.

Side note, it seems like it’s ALWAYS fall in Rosewood. Layers for days on this show. No complaints, I love it but would it hurt for them to shed the jackets every once in a while?

My favorites?

Hanna’s Yellow Cross Body Bag  (not sure if this is the exact one but it’s pretty close AND on sale!) | Emily’s Varsity Jacket | Spencer’s Key Blouse (from ModCloth!)| Spencer’s Yellow Bow Belt

Did you watch last night’s episode yet? We need to discuss. Hit me up in the comments with your thoughts on the bombshell!

Inspiration: Small Screen Style

I love television. I don’t care that people think it rots your mind, I don’t care that it wastes precious time that I could be outside – I just love it. Always have, always will.

Other than the mindless (or sometimes very mindful) entertainment it provides, I love certain shows for the stars and their style. So since some of my favorite TV babes are on tonight (Pretty Little Liars, duh), I thought I’d do a little television inspiration post. Just all my small screen style loves in one place.

Nashville: Love the music, love the cat fights and love Juliette Barnes wardrobe (and Rayna James aka Connie Britton’s hair). If I was petite like Hayden Panettiere, I’d copy every single outfit she wore after episode 7 or 8 (at the beginning things were a little sketchy). This black dress is an absolute favorite.

Revolution: Okay first off, I can’t believe this show is on network television because it is crazy gruesome . That being said, I am not-so-secretly (anymore) obsessed. So many former LOST people, I love it. This show doesn’t seem as obvious for the fashion but I’ve never seen two girls – Charlie & Nora – look so great for living without indoor plumbing and blow dryers. I also credit my new found love of all things army green to this show.

Revenge: Is there a better dressed cast on all of television (maybe Scandal but I haven’t done my marathon of it yet)? Forget Emily Thorne, if I could steal Ashley Davenport’s (aka Ashley Madekwe) closet, I would in a heartbeat. She always looks perfectly put together from head to toe. Oh and in real life, she has a pretty amazing blog too. Consider me jealous.

Pretty Little Liars: Obviously. I know I don’t need to go on but in case you haven’t heard my ramblings before – see this, this or this. I also may or may not have just started a pinterest board dedicated to PLL style. It’s official, I have a problem.

How I Met Your Mother: I love how Robin dresses like a normal person with a little extra sparkle (no pun intended – if you watch the show, you know). And as much as I love the Robin & Barney storyline, I wish we could get Quinn back on the show for her style alone. Those boots above are definitely on my wish list.

So those are some of my favorites from shows on the air right now. If we included ones that are finished this list would be a mile long – Friends, Beverly Hills, 90201, Sex in the City, Gossip Girl, Saved by the Bell, LOST (weird but true), ALIAS …

I know I didn’t include everyone’s new fav, Scandal but I couldn’t include it until I actually watch it (which will be soon I’m sure). What are your favorite shows? Any TV style icons?

Required Reading: Laying Low

This week was {barely} controlled chaos. It started out very sleepy after last weekend’s trip and including a toilet submerged phone, a visit from my mom, meetings on meetings on meetings at work. But what started in a big blur ended with meetings with two really cool Louisville ladies (Allison at dishcrawl and Laura from Kluster), mid-day margaritas at work, a quick, relaxing trip to the pool and a night catching up on my DVR.

I’ll be heading to the pool and spending some quality time with the Dad’s in my life this weekend. Hope you’re making it a good one!

Here’s what I was loving this week…

* Mary {M.A.S. Fashion} was one of the first people I met in the blogging world and seeing this picture (and how happy she looks in it) made me smile. Nothing like good things happening to good people.

* I stumbled upon this post on Pinterest and it’s a great resource for any know with or thinking about starting a blog. (via Ashley Ella Design)

* It was so great to finally meet and get to hang with Kaitlin {Secretive Style} last week. Check out how Va Va Voom she looks here.

* I heart Nikki {My Style Diaries} and this look makes me want to hit up an outdoor concert in California.

* Are any of you as obsessed with Candy Crush as I am? It’s a problem. Apparently it is for these guys too.

* Okay and last but not least, I’ve told you all too many times that I am obsessed with Pretty Little Liars aka PLL. The best part though has been hearing from so many other obsessive fans. So if you’re into reading the A theories, check out this favorite read of me and my PLL obsessed pals.

Event + Yay! It’s a Giveaway: Social Club Dinner Louisville * July 26th

If you’re like me, when you hear Masquerade  you immediately flash to your favorite {Gossip Girl/Pretty Little Liars/Revenge} episode. Well your masquerade party dreams can be freed from their small screen confines when Social Dinner Club comes to town on July 26th.

But just like on Pretty Little Liars (Sorry, I can’t help throwing in a PLL reference. Season Four starts in a week!) there’s a touch of mystery to this party. Here’s how it works, according to their website:

You and your friends will gather at a secret location,
dressed to match the theme of the evening.
Bring your own prepared meal
lavishly decorate your table and surrounding areas
and dance the night away under the stars to live music.

Social Club Dinners have a limited number of invitations. To attend a dinner in your city, request an invite and secure your spot on the guest list. Those on the guest list will receive an invitation to Social Club Dinner via email, with complete instructions on how to register for the event. Ticket sales will then open to the public after all of the invites have gone out.

All Social Club Dinners are pop-up dinner parties that are unique in their own way. Each event has a different theme and an astounding venue. The location of the event is kept secret until a few hours before the event. As an invited guest you will bring table adornments and your own meals to contribute to the design of the night.

We encourage you to dress up according to the evening’s theme and set the tone of the night with the decorations you choose and the meals shared amongst friends. This fabulous night ends in laughter, merriment, and dancing. Social Club Dinners are meant to be enjoyed by all! Show up with friends and enjoy the evening’s events over dinner and under the stars.

Request an invite to Social Club Dinner in your city here.

Pretty cool right?

The biggest part to remember is that you have to bring your own meals. So get together with a crew and plan a little pot luck. Jill from Social Club Dinner told me that in the past some people have worked with chefs or caterers to go big on their dinner.

The theme is technically optional but c’mon what fun is that. So follow the dress suggestions and go a little more formal and add a mask. If you’re interested in attending, make sure you head over to their site and request an invite.

And the best part of this post, is that we’re giving away two tickets to the dinner.
