Longest short week ever – am I right?
Last week, it was all “woo hoo we’re out of town for the big game!” and this week it’s all “thank god it’s going to rain so we can hang out on the couch and watch games.” Well, that and do laundry. I don’t even want to talk about how much laundry I’ve let pile up.
But who wants to talk about that when there are delicious cocktails to discuss. I normally don’t make a ton of cocktails – because I NEVER have all the ingredients – but when we have people over to watch games, it’s fun to whip up a batch of something to serve. I love a beer as much as the next gal but sometimes you want to have something fun to start off with. There’s also the added perk of looking like you’ve got it all together when you manage to put together a pretty cocktail. That’s me, just hiding my mess of reality behind styled cocktails. Hey, I’m good with it if you are.
We whipped up this Bucha Punch for our latest shoot with Coopers’ Craft who are clients over at Lemonade. And since the pictures are always SO pretty and the drinks are SO good, I love sharing them over here. Also, I really just wanted to show off this geometric drink dispenser I found at World Market. Honestly, I want to have people over for the expressed purpose of breaking it out. It’s so different than the ones you normally see that are really simple or look like mason jars. It’s also only $35. It would be so good for a wedding shower – you could use it at the shower and then give it to the couple as a gift. If I had a friend getting married, that’s what I’d be planning right now. Simply because this dispenser is so cute. Yes, I am a crazy person.
But on to the drink. It includes Elixir Kombucha (which is locally-made) so it’s got bubbles to give it some fizz plus the kombucha flavor makes sure the orange and pineapple juices don’t read too sweet. Obviously the best part is that you can throw it all in the dispenser, mix it up, add some fruit for garnish and serve. You know I like to keep it simple.
Guarantee it makes for a perfect game day cocktail whether your squad is running away with the game or getting run all over. Here’s hoping it’s the former and not the latter.
