I love the infield at Derby. I think I’m a smidge past (I don’t think, I know and I may be a little more than a smidge past) the age of appropriateness for the third turn but it wasn’t too long ago that I was partying it up in the infield. So I couldn’t leave it out of the Derby dress break down.
Tons of times I saw gals decked out in the infield only to have their fab attire ruined by spills, mud and other madness. I love a good American flag tee and jean shorts for the infield but if you still want to don a dress, choose something comfy and cool.
I love this tie-dye dress from ASOS because it’s cool and comfy (and inexpensive) but you’ll still look put together. For shoes, the combination of mud, glass and other potential nastiness has me anti-sandals or flip flops. I’d sport a fun pair of Keds or if it’s raining (or has been raining) opt for rain boots. You won’t regret it.
Want more Derby dresses? I’ve gotcha covered.
Tie-dye & the infield is like peanut butter & jelly. They go together. Also, mullets.
Tie-dye + mullets + infield = America.
