Derby Style: Blue and White

Apr 17, 2017

Okay, so we’re getting into the home stretch when it comes to gearing up for Derby but you’ve still got time. At least I’m hoping so since I’m still totally undecided on my entire Derby outfit. Anyone want to come pick out mine for me.

But we’re all in luck because I am going to be coming strong with the swDerby content this week. New Derby dresses in the shop, a little hair styling series with Primp and of course, more dresses of the day. I’m thinking it might be worth doubling down on a few of those posts so you all have tons of options.

If you’re like me though and love the classics, you may need to look no further than today’s look. Going the more traditional with today’s Jill Courtemanche navy hat paired with this lace Vineyard Vines winner. I think this may be one of my favorites so far.

Let’s start with the hat (since it’s always all about the hat). I absolutely love this piece. I really dig the monochromatic look, it gives me that regal, royal-family vibe, but if you want a touch more color, you could always tuck a couple feathers into it to add a little extra.

On to the dress, which may look simple at first glance, but if you look closer, there are horseshoes in the lace pattern. It’s no surprise since it’s from their Derby collection which is my favorite yet. This one is a little fancier than this sweet seersucker shift. Pairing it with this ladylike jacket makes it great for the Jockey Club Suites or if you’re doing Derby with work colleagues.

Don’t forget, you can save 20% on your hat or fascinator from Jill Courtemanche Millinery with code LouWhatWear until April 23rd.
