Last week, my friend Courtney hosted a very very fun girl’s night. Pay attention to this one because you’re going to want to gather up your favorite gals and throw this kind of party.
The concept: The Favorite Things Party. No whiskers on kittens or blue satin sashes allowed though.
The rules: Pick out your favorite thing(s) for $10. So if it’s two items, it still has to be around $10. Then bring three of them to the party. Once there, you draw three names and each of those gals gets one of your favorites. Pretty simple, right?
Let me just say, it was awesome. I wanted one of everyone’s favorite things but I was more than happy to head home with a new brush, the best smelling candle and $10 towards my favorite morning treat. The best part of the night was hearing each gal describe why they brought what they did. It felt like being at a slightly less fancy version of Oprah’s favorite things. “You get candle and YOU get a candle and YOU get a candle.”
We all left making mental notes of what we wanted to pick up after the party, so to help the gals there and to share some of our favorites – I’ve included the full list below. And here’s a favor I’m going to ask any gal who was at the party and may be reading this. I’d love for you to include why these were your favorites in the comments so everyone can know why they are so great.
GoVino Wine Glasses | Party Straws, Blow Pop & Essie Nail Polish | Essie ‘Bachelorette Bash’
The Wet Brush | Rodan & Fields Eye Make-Up Remover | Bath & Body Works Lotion & Soap
Nailtiques Base Coat | Stemless Wine Glasses | Starbucks Gift Card
Flower Cosmetics Mascara & Eye Liner | Graphic Cosmetic Bag | Anthropologie Candle
Paper Source Candle | L’Oreal Tan Wipes | Living Proof Style Extender
Mini-Emergency Kits
I didn’t get to snap a ton of pictures (I forgot I had my camera ’til halfway through) but here’s a little look at how it all went down. Thanks to Courtney for hosting such a fun night.
Seriously y’a’ll. This was one of my favorite girl’s night ideas. It was so fun to learn about new products and catch up with good friends.
I chose to bring the Capri Blue Volcano candle b/c my theory is- if your house smells good it must be clean! Plus, Anthro carries them in mercury glass- to add a touch of vintage flare. Here’s a link: http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/home-candle/093512.jsp?cm_sp=Grid-_-093512-_-Large_47
Can’t wait to do this again! xxoo
This is such a fantastic idea!! I will definitely be sharing this with all my girlfriends!!
I hope you are doing so, so well!!
