Last week I got an email from a friend of a friend who stumbled upon my instagram account and this picture in particular. She was on the hunt for a cute bow-themed top to wear to her daughter’s birthday party and was wondering if she could borrow it. Since you know I’m all about a good clothing share, I immediately agreed (although I still need to wash it and get it to her!). But her quest for cute bow gear was a blog post just waiting to happen. So I hunted down some inspiration and an array of items that can fill the need for a girly bow on any budget.
Here’s my thing about bows. You have to keep it sophisticated to avoid the childish, little girl look. I like to stick to basic colors – black, white, navy, pale pink – too avoid looking too kitschy (although I love a little kitsch when it’s called for as evidenced here). I love the looks below because every bow looks simple and chic – not too over the top. I especially love this leather bow bracelet (available on etsy here for only $10!) in leather. The leather adds a little edge to the sweet piece.
So Whether you’re wanting to go all out or jut add a little feminine touch, here’s a few ways to incorporate bows into your wardrobe.
well i obviously have to have that cuff. Katie once asked me if I had any shoes that didn’t have a bow on the toe.
yeah duh. i mean it’s only $8.
Loved the post! Now to find bow earrings by next week! Thank you for your help! Happy Friday!!
There are two pairs in the post! Order them now and they’ll definitely be here in time!
I adore bows! I bought a bow ring at Madewell a little while ago and I love it! And that leather bracelet is fab.
