Kentucky Derby Style: Coral Combo

We’re one week in to the Kentucky Derby dress series and I must say that I’ve been a little overwhelmed by the response and support. This is my favorite series for the blog and I’m really excited that you all are loving it just as much. You may be worn out with it in a few weeks but we’re going to keep on keeping on to Derby. Promise to sneak in some regular style and inspiration posts in next week – this week just got away from me with work stuff (gah regular job stuff can be such a buzz kill).

If you’re anywhere in or around Kentucky, it’s probably gray and rainy outside your window. But I’m not going to let a little rain slow down the spring parade so I picked an extra bright pairing for today’s feature. Oh and you’re getting your first look at the other backdrop Jaclyn Journey whipped up for the shoot (with some help from my flower friends at Dreisbach Wholesale Florists).

I love this coral and teal color combination for the races. It’s just got such a fun, youthful, spring vibe. And I can’t say enough about this Kenzie Kapp piece. I love how the wisps add a ton of height to the piece. Some people like smaller head pieces but I’m a huge fan of the big, bold looks. This may not be quite as big and bold as some pieces but it definitely stands out in a crowd.

You’re going to hear a lot about the options galore at Dress & Dwell but seriously, they have such a great selection at really reasonable prices (this number is under $100). So just wait
