Outfit Post: Basic Black

Aug 2, 2012

Today’s post is a quick follow up to yesterday’s, basically just a look at what I wore to the shower. Not sure if you’re “allowed” to wear black to a wedding shower but I went ahead and did it. I picked up this dress at Clodhoppers one day sale a couple Saturday’s back and was itching to wear it. I love it because it could easily be dressed up but works just as well casually with flats and bright accessories. And you can adjust the straps to go looser for a more plunging back or tighten them up to do something a little more conservative. Lots of options for one little piece.

Dress: MM Couture from Clodhoppers (also available here); Necklace: BaubleBar (also seen here and here); Belt: J.Crew; Bag: Marc Jacobs (on sale); Watch: Marc Jacobs; Sunglasses: Kate Spade from GILT; Shoes: Steve Madden (old)

So I already wrote on your Facebook obsessing over your outfit, but I was wondering if you have difficulties finding maxis that are long enough. I can never tell if mine are a bit too short. What’s your advice on this!?

yes, i do have a hard time finding maxi’s that are long enough. most of the time i just wear them with flats. it’s rare for me to find one long enough to wear heels with.
