Outfit Post: Boho Holiday

Dec 24, 2015

You guys, it’s Christmas Eve.

If you have a kid anywhere around you today, you’ll no doubt get asked if they can open a present somewhere between five and five million times. The over/under in my house is 300. I’m taking the over.

I’m just as excited as D3 (p.s – if you’ve ever wondered why I call my son D3 it’s because he’s Drew the third. Pretty self explanatory but figured if you were relatively new around here it was worth explaining) for the big day though. The presents are piling up under the tree, Christmas tunes are blaring and we’re about to get to work on a day full of cooking. More importantly, I’ve got all my favorite people around and I can’t wait to see the look of excitement/joy on D3’s face when he lays eyes on his gifts from Santa.

Christmas came a little early for me this year when I got the chance to partner up with Zappos on a holiday look from their Style Room. I spent an inordinate amount of time hunting through page after page of goodies but it was clear I was going to take one route. I’ve been eying a new pair of over-the-knee boots for months but couldn’t quite take the plunge (especially since the pair I was coveting had a price tag way out of my ballpark). That is until I spied these (“Hello…. it’s me). It was love. And since they had quite the boho vibe, I decided to go all out and snag this Free People dress/tunic (I put the slash because it would be a great dress for anyone under 5’6” or so. It’s a totally inappropriate dress for anyone taller). Just like that, magically, all my Stevie Nicks boho wishes came true. I couldn’t help but go all out Rumours and throw the hat on for this look. #sorryimnotsorry

We’re not really doing any big fancy holiday dinners so you’ll find me in this for our Christmas dinner. This top is roomy enough to hide all evidence of all the holiday treats I’ll be consuming.

Back to Zappos for a hot second, you probably knew this but if not, it’s way more than just shoes (but the shoes though). I may or may not have stolen this look from one of their Style Room looks (still not sorry) and my order came SO FAST. It helps a little that I happen to live ridiculously close to their shipping headquarters but no joke, my order came the next day for free. And in the interest of full disclosure, I had to swap out some of my original picks and the return/exchange was just as quick. I’m planning on doing a little more browsing to pick out something shiny for New Year’s Eve (I’ve got my eyes on this and these).
