Outfit Post: Casual Pink #TargetStyle

Mar 4, 2013

Usually Monday morning comes and I am a giant ball of anxiety because I’m back at work without tackling a single to-do at home (aka me last Monday). But this weekend was {thankfully} low-key and involved a lot of catching up. For once I’m back at work feeling organized and ready to tackle the week ahead.

My decidedly low-key weekend meant equally low-key attire but spending the weekend getting my life in order didn’t translate to sweatpants and old t-shirts. I snagged this dip-dyed sweatshirt at Target (you know, when I went for batteries and tweezers and left with $85 less in my bank account) and lived in it all weekend. The bright color kept me from feeling too slouchy and paired with boyfriend jeans, it was casual but not shlumpy (yup, I’m pretending that’s a real word). The color also kept me in a good mood and despite the cold outside made me REALLY excited for spring.

And since no trip to Target is complete without another random splurge, I threw in this tote since I am officially a bag lady. I don’t mean the kind of bag lady with a bunch of awesome designer purses, I mean the Mary Poppins kind of bag lady that carries around a million things with her everywhere. I’ve already made this the bag I throw my work out gear/random pile of papers I take to work/computer/planner in. While it’s full of work nonsense now, I’m envisioning it as the perfect pool bag in a few {much warmer} months.

With this look, I feel like I’m slowly easing into spring which is perfect since it’s supposed to be 40 degrees today but 70 by the weekend. I know I’m ready to pack up all the dark colors and I think I’m finally ready to say good bye to my boots (at least for a little bit). Ready for spring too? Here’s some more dip dyed options for you to dip your toe into the season.

Love the double ombre! What a perfect comfy weekend look, but still acceptable to run errands in! And I’m a bag lady too…my bags keep getting bigger, its really bad!!

I went directly to Target yesterday and purchased that sweat top. It was hard to pick just one – the peach and green were very cute as well. Also bought a blue sweat top in the same style.
