It’s almost Easter weekend which means, for me, my Lenten promise to not eat candy is almost over. Woo hoo. Basically what I’m saying is you can find me eating all of the ridiculously amazing Cadbury Mini Eggs all day Sunday. And then picking up all the bags on sale on Monday to stockpile for the rest of the year (or a couple months).
Okay so that’s not all I’ll be doing (it’s all I want to do but that’s neither here nor there), we’ve got some fun family plans including our traditional Easter brunch. That means I’m going to have to get my act together, put the leggings on the back burner for a day (or morning) and get dolled up.
Thankfully my own fairy godmother from Laundry sent over a few dresses to get me through those occasions when you need to dress up the bump. The best part is that none of them are maternity so I’ll be able to wear them this summer for weddings, showers and other random fancy pants parties. I wore this amazing white and black option for my friend Caitlin’s baby shower last month (just the right amount of stretch and long enough – the latter being key) and I’ll be breaking out this floral embroidered shift for this weekend’s Easter activities.
I’m a big fan of dark clothes during pregnancy (i’ll take all the optical illusion slimming I can get) so I love that it’s a solid black on top with a pop of bright spring color on the bottom. This would be a great Derby dress too – you could go with a fun colorful headpiece and play off the embroidery. Plus, it comes in white too.
