Coming in hot today from Puerto Rico. Seriously, it’s freaking hot down here. Makes me sweaty every time I open Instagram and see someone in a sweater.
I made a quick weekend trip down here for a high school friend’s beautiful wedding in Old San Juan. The ceremony was in a beautiful open air old church (and entirely in Spanish – so that was a first for me) and the reception was held El Convento – which is a gorgeous historic hotel that was once a convent. If you’re ever planning a trip down here, I would definitely recommend the hotel especially since it has a partnership with a couple other beach front properties so you can get the best of both worlds. Celebrating Marcel and Mariela was a blast and I hardly ever get to see friends from home so it was a lot of fun catching up. It was a solo trip since doing back-to-back destination weddings can be a hit on the budget and vacation days. It’s been nice to have a couple days to myself although to be totally honest, I’ve done a lot more being lazy than exploring the island.
Heading back to Kentucky today for a busy week at work so I’m soaking up these last few quite minutes before dropping back in to the daily chaos. This outfit has been in heavy rotation since picking up both pieces at Banana Republic. Boyfriend jeans have always been a bit tricky for me – finding a pair that aren’t too tight around the thighs but then also aren’t too loose on the waist. This pair fits the bill perfectly. I know some people want to give the trend a try but aren’t sure if they can pull them off, rest assured you can, it’s just all about that fit. Give these a go and pair them with simple heels and your favorite top – boom! new dinner date outfit.
