I’m sure it will only take you a quick second to notice today’s look is a little out of my norm. Okay so there are stripes but red isn’t normally in my wheelhouse. Not going to lie, I’m a little afraid of wearing red. Anyone else with me?
I mean, for one thing, you definitely cannot be a shrinking violet when you’re going out in a bold red. I’m more of an all-black, navy, gray kind of girl so throwing this on was a bit daunting at first. But I’m trying to break out of my monochromatic rut and no better way than to kick the habit than with red.
Because I am a scaredy-cat though, I had to pair it with something more in my clothing safe space, so of course, that meant stripes. When I first saw this Shop Buru dress, they styled it with a similar top in a solid blue. So I totally copied and went with a similar item in my closet, this striped top that I still can’t get enough of. It may be a bit over the top in its patriotic flare but I don’t mind it.
For a more casual look, I’m thinking of channeling my 7th-grade self (well without the raging acne, baby fat, Gumby-style long limbs and tragically awkward social skills) and throwing a simple white tee underneath with white sneakers. Basically, I want to attempt the whole model-off-duty tee shirt and dress thing despite the fact that I know I’ll immediately realize I can’t pull off the vibe. I’m sure Reese will immediately let me know her thoughts on the matter. We’ll see – it may be more sister-wives than model but I’m never afraid to try. They’re just clothes right?
Maybe I should just try it like it’s supposed to be worn and call it a day, huh?

I’m more of neutrals fan, too, but you should definitely rock more red! You look gorgeous in it!
