Please lord, let school be in session on Monday. I love my kids. Love ’em to death, they’re the best but if I have to spend another day cooped up in this house with them, I may lose my mind. I don’t think I’ve ever looked forward more to a Monday. I desperately need adult human conversation, the ability to say a single sentence without being interrupted and take a step without tripping on a pile on legos. That being said, if my kids have to spend another day with me, I think they may mutiny themselves. They may just pack themselves up and go off to school/daycare.
Sorry, had to vent.
This whole no school/snow storm thing has me behind on my work to-do list, slacking on my blogging and just generally being out of sorts. Not saying it wasn’t fun at first but I’m ready to get back in to the daily routine. Not sure that’s going to be totally possible this week since… We’re Moving!!! I may have two kids but I never really felt like a full-fledged adult until we met with the bank about this house. It’s like a real grown up house which is exciting but also means I’m old. Hey, I don’t care, the kitchen is worth it. Can’t wait to share pictures and more details once we get in and settled.
Until then, here’s a round up of some of my favorite links, reads and finds of the week.
* My favorite magazine, nope not Vogue or anything fashion related, Entertainment Weekly has a list of of what to watch, read or listen to if you’re snowed in this weekend. We may try to sneak in a movie or two this afternoon – we’ve already seen Inside Out (it’s so good – you don’t need to have kids to love it) and I’ve seen The Martian, so I’m hoping Drew and I can make time to FINALLY watch Straight Outta Compton.
* When I grow up, I want to be as cool as Mandy {Waiting on Martha}. If you’re not following her on Instagram, you’re missing out.
* Great tips on how to edit your photos in Lightroom from Blair {The Fox and She}.
* For some reason, I’ve been obsessed with backpacks for the last year. Can’t get enough of them but still haven’t splurged on one…. until now. Well, not really but this tassel version has me seriously considering hitting the buy now button.
* Our new house has a killer kitchen (seriously, I told Drew I would set up a cot and just sleep in there) and I cannot wait to start expanding my cooking skills. Adding these 6 Tools to my wish list thanks to Gaby from What’s Gaby Cooking.
* Speaking of home stuff, I’ve been on a big design kick getting ready for the move. Love this post from Emily Henderson on some of her biggest design mistakes (and what to learn from them). I’ll be keeping these in mind when picking and planning for the house.
* I’ve been trying to incorporate more ‘safe’ beauty products in to my daily routine and after a couple months using Beautycounter’s Luster Oil, I’m hooked.
* Louisville just got its first the drybar and it was love at first site. I braved the snow yesterday to check out the blow dry bar on its Grand Opening day and had a great experience. I’ll be sharing a full review but in case you want to check it out before then, here’s the details.
