Required Reading: Fresh Start

Trying to keep the resolution going strong with back-to-back weeks of required reading. Let’s see how long we can keep the streak going.

I can’t even put in words how happy I am that the weekend is here. That first full week back at work (and back in the regular routine) took it out of me. Add to that a crazy hectic announcement for a client that had me tied up all day Thursday and a day of non-stop meetings on Friday and I am BEAT.

We’re keeping the slow, steady and small home improvements rolling this weekend. Last weekend, we painted our upstairs landing and after forcing Drew to take an Ikea detour on a day-trip to Cincinnati earlier this week, I’m excited about getting some things in our upstairs settled. Basically, this entire paragraph is an excuse to tell you about these prints I bought from JennaSueMaps on Etsy to finish off the landing. These would make a great wedding/engagement gift for a couple with their favorite place. We bought maps from the cities where we’ve taken our most favorite vacations – Key West and New Orleans (not sure what that says about us or our drinking habits).

Anyways, enough of all that and on to the stuff I’ve been loving from around the interwebs this week.

* Love seeing how Anna {See Jane} stays chic during her pregnancy. Definitely looking for inspiration when it comes to dressing around the bump. This post about falling into a style rut hit home for me and I feel like I’m in the exact same place. I’ve been resorting to skinny pants +  long blouses and blazers or loose sweaters so far. Here’s hoping the weather warms up a little (or stays how it is today) so dresses can make a return to the routine.

* And if it doesn’t, I’ll just send Mary {M.A.S. Fashion} a thank you note for putting together this compilation of amazingly stylish sweater dresses. Or I’ll just bundled up like Molly {A Piece of Toast} and keep the “is she or did she just …” questions coming.

* Late Afternoon is my favorite aspirational site and here she combines slouchy (and sparkly) lounge wear and the beach, consider me smitten.

* Congrats to Alicia {Cheetah is the New Black} on her site revamp. Looks so great.

* If you checked out my Bachelor recaps on secondary embarrassment and were {even marginally} amused, you’ll want to add Lauren’s {PR Blonde} recaps to your regular Tuesday morning reading routine.

* Made this chicken recipe from Food & Wine Magazine earlier this week and it was delicious, SUPER easy and quick.

Last and definitely least, a couple friends have asked me (offline) what I’m planning on doing with the baby room. So this link is mostly for them to get an idea of what I’m thinking about but if you’re interested (or looking for a little inspiration of your own) I’m gathering inspiration here. Right now it’s leaning towards one with white walls, black accents and small touches of ballerina pink and gray.

Have a happy weekend!
