Shopping: Beach Wedding Ready

How fun are weddings?

There’s nothing like celebrating a great couple, surrounded by friends, good music and lots of libations. Hitting the dance floor (after scoring some cake) to groove to wedding jams is definitely one of my top interests.

But wedding season can be a daunting dressing task, especially when you get invited to a boat load in one summer/fall combo. Last year I think we went to 10 or 12 {awesome and very fun} weddings. This year, I think the number is half of that which means two things: 1. less wedding gifts to buy. (pro) 2. less grooving on the dance floor (definite con). But beyond that it means less stress on what to wear.

I’m sure you’ve all been there too. Where you standing in front of your closet, trying to figure out if the people at this wedding overlap with the people at the wedding you went to two weeks ago, thinking – “Can I wear the same dress?” There’s also the decision making for whether it’s outdoor or inside or a combo (ceremony in a church, reception outdoors). Is it black tie or a beach wedding? Rustic backyard or at a country club? Is it in a tent or a traditional venue? Lots and lots of options to factor into your dress selection. So to help you get wedding ready, I’m going to do a series this week of some of my favorite looks for a variety of wedding settings. First up: the beach wedding.

And just remember: never ever wear white (I know it sounds like a no-brainer but I’ve been to multiple weddings and seen it happen). All Images via Pinterest

For beach weddings, I love the chance to go with a bold print, bright color and/or a long, flowy style. It’s a chance to unleash your inner bohemian or prep. But if that’s not your style, you can always go for a classic, simple shape in a bright color (they look so great when you have a little bit of a tan). Here’s a few of my favorite options…

BB Dakota Printed Maxi Dress ($89)

Clover Canyon City Palace Dress ($260)

Lily Pulitzer Foley Dress ($398)

Great options! Love both of the maxi dresses as well as the blue lace number. I only have 2 weddings to attend this year, and I’m in both!
