Style Spotting: Gilt Louisville Pop-Up Shop

Jul 2, 2013

Last Thursday evening I ended a seriously long day (it started at 4:30 am for a TV live remote at a hotel I work with for the Madame Alexander doll conference – don’t ask) with a little retail therapy at the preview event for the Gilt pop-up shop in Shelbyville Road plaza (need the details? head over here).

It was definitely a great way to {almost} end a crazy week. After being overwhelmed and excited by the room full of seriously on sale goods, I was pretty impressed with the personal style assembled in the room. Of all the events I’ve been to in town, I think this group of people were some of the most stylish I’ve seen all in one place in this town. Not just great outfits or dresses but a lot of great style.

The only bummer about that is that they had a keen eye for the good stuff and it was gone QUICK. I wanted to take more pictures but, to be honest, I was scouring the place for deals.

I decided to be on the look out for closet staples and ended up leaving with a Tahari leather jacket (for $50), a pair of Current/Elliott flare jeans ($30) and a Pour la Victoire tan clutch ($30). The biggest deal of the night {in my opinion} was my pal Caitlin scoring a brand new, in the box, Kitchen Aid stand mixer for, wait for it… $40.

Luckily for the blog, the line was crazy long so I got to snap some pictures.

Crazy long line | Hipster + Blue Plastic Furniture | Ben Minkoff Briefcases  {that I wanted} |
The cutest girl in a fun preppy red & black combo (totally bummed that my other pictures of her were blurry) | A group dressed to the nines. Love the prints and his pink jacket & shirt + white shorts.

Josh and Kristen. So much style and confidence wrapped up in these two.

More simple, pretty and preppy red & black. Love how girly and chic this looks.
Once again my other pics were blurry – my hand was shaky from my armful of goodies.

Thanks so much to Alexandra at Gilt for the invite and for all the stylish guys and gals I met. It was so fun chatting with people in line and eying everyone’s finds. Oh and Margaret – I’ll be sending you some restaurant recommendations soon!
