Inspiration + Shopping: Espadrilles

I could lie and say that my my espadrille obsession is fueled by warmer spring temperatures and the lure of days spent by the water. But like I said, that would be a lie. The real reason I’ve been aimlessly putting espadrilles in my online shopping carts and pinning pictures nonstop is because I’m trying to channel my inner Jules Sarinana from Sincerely Jules. That laid-back, effort-less, wanderlust style has me wishing I was planning a summer long beach trip and packing only white sundresses, cut-offs, breezy tops and of course, espadrilles. read more

Derby Dress of the Day: For the Grandstand

The Derby countdown continues today with a look for the Grandstand seating at the track. The great part about the grandstand is you’ll be able to see the track, meaning you’ll be able to shout Go Baby Go! at your horse as it comes down the stretch. The bad part is that you’re open to the elements (pray for no rain) in most of the bleacher seats. Since it’s bleacher seats, you don’t have a ton of room to spread out, so I picked a simple dress that you’ll be comfortable in all day while still looking totally put together. read more

Shopping: Fab Flats

High heels are a personal weakness for me but that doesn’t mean I don’t love a good pair of flats. They’re especially important this time of year when the chance of slipping and biting are at an all time high (and woah is it embarrassing).

Just because they’re practical doesn’t mean they can’t be insanely cute and so in an ode to the flat, here are a few favorites camping out in my online shopping carts.

Also, when it comes to flats I am kind of torn when it comes to cost. If the shoes is trendy, I’m usually inclined to do a less expensive version but if it’s a basic ballet flat or one in a color/print you’re sure to love for years to come (for example, a great leopard print), go ahead and splurge. They will be more comfortable, hold up longer and look nicer for the long haul. So to go with that half & half vibe, I’ve got favorites with price points than range from guilt free at Forever 21 to love it/have to have it from Sole Society, ZARA and Piperlime to save and splurge from Tory Burch and Alice & Olivia. Now which one(s) to choose? read more
