Outfit Post: Basics and Blue

Summer is supposed to be a time to slow down, right? I’m going to need a tutorial on how to make that happen because this summer has been busier than ever and I’m not even back at work full-time yet.

I’m not complaining because it’s been filled with lots of good stuff but I’ve struggled with enjoying all the little stuff because it seems like we’re always rushing to the next activity, pick-up or event. I’m craving one of those long, slow summer weekend days – preferably without rain. Fingers crossed for this weekend. read more

Outfit Post: Caped Crusader

Lately D3 has been getting into super heroes and I guess seeing all those capes rubbed off on me. I’d never hopped onto the cape trend before but after seeing this one while doing some online holiday shopping (one for you, one for me). I decided to give it a go. What pushed me over the edge was a combo of a great coupon code and the realization that this would be a great transitional piece to wear while dealing with this growing bump.

It’s super versatile and I love that I can throw it over my uniform of leggings and a long tee to instantly make them work appropriate. Well, that and heels. Heels definitely help. read more

Dark Holiday

That title sounds ominous huh? Sorry but I just couldn’t come up with anything better. Anyways…

A week or so ago, I shared a sparkly and bright look as part of a holiday collaboration with Dress & Dwell, well today I’m sharing another favorite D&D find from their Party at Gatsby’s look book but it’s a little less sparkly and more with the dark holiday vibe. That comes courtesy of this sweater. When I spotted it, I knew it wasn’t something I would normally gravitate to but I’ve been trying to work more sweaters into my outfits (I think it’s the Floridian in me that has an aversion to sweaters) so I thought I’d give it a go. I love the length and the fact that it is super soft and cozy. Speaking of the length, just like my last D&D pick, they’ve styled this as a dress online but if you’re over 5’6″ I’d suggest pairing it with leggings, tights or pants to avoid a wardrobe malfunction. Just saying. read more
