running shoes

We all do a lot of brainstorming at the start of a new year and one thing I’m hoping to do is create a more consistent content calendar. That way you’ll know when to stop by for the content you’re interested in – whether it’s shopping-focused, outfit posts, inspiration or Louisville-themed content. Today’s round-up out is the launch of a new series called ‘In My Cart’ where you’ll find my current favorites, lots of sale information and any great online finds. It’s my mission to make these a more regular occurrence (and working on creating a better template for this kind of content), so if you have anything specific you’re on the hunt for – let me know and I’ll find some favorites for you. read more

Schools in Session * Sneaker Shopping with Shoe Carnival

Shoe Carnival provided me with product and compensation. The opinions I have shared about the products are my own.

I cannot believe school officially starts here next week. Where did the summer go?

It’s funny because I feel like I’m in the same ‘back-to-school’ mode as the kids since I’ve been on maternity leave almost all summer. The only difference is that I didn’t get to go buy lots of fun school supplies and a new backpack for my first day back in the office.

I did get to tag along with the kiddos to grab a new pair of sneakers though. And while the whole process of tracking down the entire supply list (just how many types of markers does one kid need?) and school uniforms can be a little stressful – going shopping for their new shoes was a lot of fun. read more

Outfit Post: New Kicks

Over the weekend, Drew turned and looked at me and said, “It’s amazing the amount of things you think you can squeeze into one day.” That sentence basically sums up my life and definitely this weekend.

I don’t think it would have been possible to cram more into my Sunday, let alone this weekend. It included one surprise birthday party, one wedding in Cincinnati, one kids birthday party and we went to the Lyle Lovett concert (don’t judge – it was awesome). Plus, I cleaned out my closet in an attempt to sell all my goodies on Sunday (a ton is left over and I’m considering putting up pics on here to see if anyone is interested – lots of cute stuff that doesn’t fit/I don’t need) and took D3 school supply shopping. Running around is a habit. read more

Fitness: Resolution 2015 – Run the Derby Festival Mini-Marathon

So let’s get this out of the way quick. I totally bailed on the fitness posts for a while. In all honestly, getting to the gym is HARD these days. Anyone who’s busy knows the drill. For me, the classes I love are normally at a time that I can’t make – either in the middle of the day or in that 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. range. The latter would be perfect if I didn’t have those kiddos to pick up but all that running around has me not wanting to leave my house once I make it there. I also am insanely envious of the midday work out crew. My hair is totally uncooperative and the hustle to and from the office gives me a mild anxiety attack. TMI? Sorry. read more
