Keep it Cozy

Jan 13, 2020

You guys, we’re only 13 days into 2020 and I’m pretty sure I’ve hit the mountaintop … or the top of the pyramid. I’ve basically dedicated the last 72 hours of my life to Cheer, the new cheerleading documentary on Netflix. I’ve done deep dives on the main players, read way too many articles about the show and its producers, learned that a good friend went to Navarro (mind blown) and done more research on cheerleading than a grown, adult woman who hasn’t cheered a day in her life should. I’ve also learned that I may never be able to influence you all to buy a sweater or ask about my skin care routine but the influencer thrives when it comes to recommending binge-worthy shows. I have DM’ed with so many of you about the show and it’s brought me so much joy. It’s pretty embarrassing how much I love it, except I’m not embarrassed at all.

It reached its peak though when the Navarro cheerleading instagram account followed me and Gabi Butler shared one of my stories. I was shook and again, more excited than I’d care to admit. You guys, it’s all downhill from here.

In all honesty, I’m thinking of writing a post about the show and all my thoughts on it. I also talked to my friend and she said she would do a Q + A about all things Navarro. So stay tuned.

This outfit has absolutely nothing to do with Cheer but I hadn’t shared it yet, so here you go.

Since the weather has been all over the place, I never know if it’s winter or spring when I head out the door. I wore this combo over the holidays on one of those days when it was chilly but not cold enough to warrant tights. It also shows that you can get some solid wear out of your summer t-shirt dresses in the winter. Just layer a cozy jacket over and you’re good to go. I paired this with these short python booties but could have easily swapped them for my favorite knee high boots.

I’ve shared this jacket before but it was such a good Evereve find. It’s SO warm (almost too warm sometimes). I wore it in New York in November and thought it might not be warm enough but it was more than enough for a day of walking around. It’s under $100 and is the easiest way to make a pretty simple outfit stand out. It’s finally on sale so go grab it!

Last, and by far the most clutch piece but unseen piece, is this body shaper. I wore it underneath all of my holiday outfits and it kept every dress looking smooth (aka no panty lines) and hid the cookie baby bump I was getting from eating sweet treats like no tomorrow. It’s going to be so clutch for Derby dress season.
