Never have I ever been so happy it’s Monday. I feel like yesterday’s travel adventure with three children deserves its own post so I won’t get into it here. Partially because I am still recovering and mostly because looking in from the outside, it’s pretty hilarious and a cautionary tale worth telling. If you want to get the CliffsNotes version, it’s all on Snapchat.
So yeah, coming to you this morning from snowy Vermont where we are spending the week with my parents. And in anticipation of holiday party season, I’m going to be sharing a few party looks. Plus, I’m sharing a bunch of other options you can snag in time for your work party, holiday dinners with friends or your big family gathering.
Today I’m sharing this seriously comfy velvet shift. I think technically it’s a tunic but I’m 5’8″ and it’s long enough to be a dress too. The good thing is you can wear it over tights with booties for something fancier, throw it on with leggings and boots for a more casual holiday gathering or go somewhere in between like I did with over the knee boots (Remember these from last year? Still so good.).
Since velvet is back, just try to forget those giant velvet holiday dresses you wore back in the day (don’t act like you didn’t have one) and focus on the good stuff out now. Whatever way you want to try out the trend, I’ve rounded up some options – I’m especially loving some of the shoe options.
p.s – Big thanks to Shannon and the gals at Primp Style Lounge for the blow-out to make my hair look like a blogger who has her s**t together. My #1 holiday party tip: let someone else handle the hair. Book an appointment here and knock that off your holiday to-do list.
