Casual Friday

Mar 24, 2017

Gah I love Fridays. Especially these early spring Fridays – even the slightest chance of good weather gets me excited.

Some friends and I are hosting a baby shower for our friend Carolyn this weekend and I’m gonna be running around today trying to wrap up some last minute details. I’m also shooting some fun Derby hair tutorials with the gals at Primp this morning that I’m really excited about. I’ve always wanted to do some tutorials on how to style your hair with a hat, so I’m glad I finally got my butt in gear to make it happen.

Lush Roll-Tab Tunic from Nordstrom
(under $30 and comes in a ton of colors) |
Dagne Dover Ada Bucket Bag c/o | Old Navy Rockstar Jeans
Marc Fisher Elise Platform Sneakers from Omar + Elsie

This simple little combo is my lazy-girl uniform. This tunic (which I have in three colors now) pairs so easily with just about everything in my closet but goes especially well with plain old jeans. The black version is my go-to work shirt when I wake up with zero outfit inspiration. Pair it with a great pair of boots or flats, toss on a necklace and a good blazer and I’m out the door. I’m pretty Nordstrom carries it non-stop, probably for some of the aforementioned reasons, and it’s under $30. For summer, I’m already planning on pairing it with denim shorts and if you’re traveling, it can do double duty as a cover-up. I’m over here just trying to stretch that dollar. But seriously, it’s a good buy.

Get excited, Derby Dress of the Day starts on Monday and will be going strong every damn day until Derby. And I promise to get the Derby section all set-up and ready to go over the weekend. Until then, enjoy the the {mildly} warmer weather and all the basketball – Go Cats!
