Favorite Things + Shopping: Secret Cupids

I know you’ve seen the candy hearts at your local Walgreens (they’ve probably been there for three weeks already), so don’t get too peeved at me for getting in the spirit.

Let’s all be real, Valentine’s Day is about the ladies and while your dude may be a stellar gift giver, I love gifts from gal pals because they’re always fun and unexpected. And while I definitely think you should keep the holiday tradition with your main man, last year the gals at work and I started a new tradition that may be my new favorite thing about the holiday.

We all know about Secret Santas but why save the gift giving for one time a year so we started Secret Cupids. Our office is almost all girls so it works out really well. We just set a spending limit – last year it was $20 or $25, I can’t remember – and then you can get as many or as few fun gifts as fit in the budget. All of us ended up going home happy with a few sweet treats.

So forget the fellas and this Valentine’s, I suggest rounding up a few girlfriends for your own Secret Cupid (you can even do it long distance – just drop the present in the mail). Swears, you’ll love it.

I love this idea! I tried to get the gals at work excited about valentine’s day but they were like “eww not a fan of that day”. It is one of my favorite days!

aw bummer! well grab some girlfriends to do it. i’m definitely not a fan of the overly sappy valentine’s day but there’s not much better than a sweet little surprise gift!
