You guys, follow through is one of the things I struggle with but for once, I’m coming through. Last month I talked about the America’s Best Racing Fan Choice Awards and all my picks for this year’s racing favorites. Well, the votes are in and the winners were announced last night.
You guys, I feel like we didn’t get enough Kentucky votes in because Saratoga and the Breeders’ Cup took home most of the awards. Not sure how Hattie’s Chicken at Saratoga beat out Burgoo at Keeneland but apparently it’s that delicious. I’m willing to do a taste test though, if anyone wants to send me to Saratoga to see how fabulous it is in person (I’ve heard good things. Saratoga – call me). The good news is that The Kentucky Derby took home Best Racing Fashion Event. If we had lost in that category, it would have been a crying shame.
I’ve been sharing all of this racing content as part of a partnership with America’s Best Racing and so while we close the door on this year’s racing season, I am PUMPED to see what 2020 will bring. Hoping to share even more Kentucky Derby prep with you all as well as more of what it’s like at other tracks around the country. We’re so lucky to have access to some of the best racing here in Kentucky and while I love Churchill Downs and Keeneland, it would be fun to explore more of the racing world. So that’s one of my fun goals in 2020.
One of my bucket list items is doing the whole Triple Crown one year, so maybe this will be the year (doubtful but a girl can dream, right?). Anyways, thanks for being so supportive of this partnership, especially all the love on this post on Horse Country. If there’s something you want to see or learn more about, drop me a note and I’ll see if we can make it happen.
Until then, check out the Awards Show and the full list of winners below.
