I stalk a lot of blogs (no really, A LOT of them) but my most favorite of them all, the one I’m always going back to for inspiration is Cupcakes and Cashmere by the always fabulous Emily Schuman. What, you’re asking, does this have to do with anything. Well, she does a regular post called “Five Things” where she reflects on five things she’s loving that week. Her’s appears on Friday but me, I think I need to reflect on my five happy things on a Monday – when I’m otherwise drowning in to-do list items and getting caught up in the week ahead.
So to brighten this Monday, I’m sharing five little things that bring a smile to my face when I see them. Hopefully, they’ll bring one to your face too.
This little nook by my front door is always a happy place for me but the addition of this Christmas sign from The Urban Farmhouse Market has taken my love up a notch. I’m going to be sad to see it go in a few weeks.
How cute are these Twiggy Snowmen ornaments? I spotted these on Design Crush and couldn’t help but share them. May try and scoop up a pair after Christmas and make them apart of the 2012 xmas decorations.
I got an awesome set of three Benefit benetint colors as a gift a few months ago and just recently rediscovered my love of this. I’m not a fan of lipstick so I’ve been using this tint and it gives just the right amount of color. The fact that it doubles as blush makes me that much happier.
I found this shirt on sale at J.Crew and debated over whether I should get it. I’d been jealous of the cute looks Blair at Atlantic-Pacific had thrown together with plaid and thought it was time to give it a go. I’m happy I did. It’s perfect for a casual weekend and can be gussied up with some jewelry, a bright colored sweater and a skirt. I love it. (p.s. – as I was pulling the link to Atlantic-Pacific, I realized she has this shirt on in today’s post. happy coincidence)
I made these (well, the recipe not this exact pic) delicious fontina-stuffed, bacon-wrapped dates this past weekend for my little man’s first birthday party (these were for the more mature guests) and they were a hit. So much so that I barely got to taste one. I am pretty obsessed with Brown Eyed Baker when it comes to finding yummy recipes for just about anything. She hasn’t let me down yet and I’ve made more recipes than I’d care to admit from her site.
Welp, those are five things I am loving right now. What’s on your favorite things list?
love this. i need that plaid shirt as well!
Ooohhh those ornaments are TOO cute!
