Why has summer been busier than ever before? Isn’t it the season where you’re supposed to spend lazy, long days outside? Where are those days?
First off, it’s always raining. Last week, on the three nicest days of the year before monsoon season started again, we had three photoshoots for work. We had to cram them all in while the sun was making its brief appearance. They were all fun – especially the one where we got to wander around Louisville eating, drinking and shopping with the Convention & Visitors Bureau team – but having them back to back to back wore me out.
And I know the weekend is WELL behind us but I did get out (for once) to Let’s Dance Louisville to cheer on my blogger buddy Grace of A Southern Drawl. She killed it with her quick step (learned what that was on Saturday, I’m clearly not knowledgeable about ballroom dancing) and looked fab in her Gatsby-inspired get up. Oh and I did that closet sale, thank you all so much for coming out to support us in New Albany and to everyone that snatched things up on IG. I kind of hate that I did that but there was so much good stuff left over, I had to do it. So thanks for bearing with me on that. Especially if that’s not your kind of thing.
And last but not least (this is what you really want to know), I got the chance to attend the Evereve preview party last night in advance of their new store opening in Oxmoor Center next month (tentative opening date is July 17th – mark your calendar). It was great to get the story behind the brand from the CEO Megan Tamte who came up with the concept after a terrible new mom shopping experience (I’m guessing a lot of us have had one of those). She wanted to create a place where she didn’t get the Pretty Woman treatment and could shop for high-quality, cute but also age-appropriate pieces that don’t break the bank.
Basically, it’s a store where you can expect welcoming sales people who will never make you feel out of place along with a full selection of contemporary brands. It’s all stuff that can be worn a variety of ways and includes both their own in-store brands along with brands like Paige, KUT From the Kloth, SPANX, Free People, Hudson, Sanctuary, Michael Stars and shoes from Dolce Vita, Sam Edelman, Splendid and more. The store will be located right in the middle of the mall, near Kendra Scott and the new Vineyard Vines.
In advance of the opening, I picked out some new pieces for summer. After cleaning out almost everything in my closet, I realized I had TONS of t-shirt but needed some good tops to layer for work that also work for summer parties or dinner dates. So I ended up going all-in at Evereve and this stripe one is so good for Fourth of July fun. I’ll probably just end up pairing it with jean shorts (probably going to order these – i’ve heard they are the best) but I love it with these white jeans (they’re on sale) for something a little more dressed up.
You probably can’t seem them too well in these pics but these heels are in heavy rotation right now. I love how they zip up the back and have a block heel – makes them so comfortable. I’ve worn them for a full day and they didn’t leave my feet hurting for days. Making sure to mention them since they’re on sale and I don’t want them to sell out before you all can get your hands on them.
Also, I am loving this gold circle necklace right now. More on that, and my obsession with simple gold jewelry, coming up but it’s been in heavy rotation since it arrived on my doorstep.
Okay, I’m off to try and tackle some of my to-do’s aka write all the posts I meant to share last week. Why am I always so behind? Does anyone want to come and help me get my life together? I haven’t even mentioned yet that my phone got stolen. You all don’t want to hear the whole story but gah, who wants a phone? Such an annoying experience but I got a new on so I’m moving on, just like you want to do with this post.
Great look!
The stripes and dainty jewelry combo really is perfect for a hot July day! Have a great holiday!
Love your gold jewelry
