I don’t talk about my actual job on here very much (in case you’re wondering or have ever wondered, probably not but you’re gonna find out either way, I work for a public relations firm called Boxcar here in Louisville). I mean I tell you what I wear to work a lot (A LOT – I know), but otherwise I don’t talk much about work on the blog or about the blog much at work.
See most of my clients aren’t even close to the realm of the fashion retail world. Yeah sometimes we do partner up with bloggers but that’s a world that’s very foreign to the majority of the people I deal with on a daily basis. Honestly, I get a little embarrassed when some of my clients find out about this little endeavor. It’s usually good for a some good natured ribbing but that’s about it.
That’s exactly what I got when I wore this a week ago to a day of meetings. And since I’d broken out of the mold of skinny pants + blouse + heels for a change, I figured it was worth it to drag my friend Hayley out to the neighborhood by our office to snap some pictures.
This was another #nonewthings outfit – pulling out this Clothes Swap score of a skirt, an old H&M tee and my favorite black blazer. Finish it up with my favorite (need to clean these now) boots and it was out the door. One thing that was key about this outfit is this blazer. I can’t say enough about investing in a great black blazer. I’ve had this one for a LONG time and it’s still just as great as the day I got it. It’s the little things that make getting ready that much easier and I know I can always throw this blazer on when it’s one of those closet conundrum days.
p.s. – if you’re in Louisville, I’d love to see you tomorrow evening at Dandelion! We’re hosting a Valentine’s party – think shopping, champagne and chocolate. Get all the details here.
