Outfit Post: Topped Off

Feb 3, 2014

So it snowed again here last night. Thanks for the extra six weeks of winter Punxsutawney Phil.

As much as I love kicking it with my little man and extending the weekend a little longer, this winter madness is starting to drive me a little mad. Oh well, I do tend to get more work done at home (feel the pressure to get more done in less time; less chatting and messing around) and Netflix is calling my name.

Today I’m venturing out of my comfort zone and into hat territory. Not the Derby-kind (gah, I wish) but the more winter appropriate beanie. The number of stylish girls in beanies I’ve pinned to pinterest grows every day and I’ve dedicated a few posts to the topper but have never given it a go myself. Well here’s my best shot. I don’t think I’ve mastered the “I’m so chic, I just threw this on and look fab” cool girl look but baby steps.

Speaking of babies,  I’ve had a few people ask me/tell me that I don’t look pregs in these outfit posts I’ve been posting lately. Well friends, I’ve admitted this before but it definitely bears repeating. Because of my crazy work/home schedule – I shoot between 5 – 10 outfits (outfits that I’ve worn already or that I now have planned out) at a time with my gal Whitney and then post them throughout the month. Normally, this works perfectly but now that I’m a different size every week – it’s a bit deceiving. I definitely don’t mean it in that way, it’s just that’s all my schedule allows. So, just for clarification – these next few posts (and the last couple before here, here and here) were taken at about 19 or 20 weeks preg. I’m almost (always rounding up) 24 weeks now and shortly after I took these pics, I popped. In a big way. I’ll be shooting some more again soon (and will hopefully incorporate some more “day of” pics – once the weather cooperates). Just wanted to clarify! Oh and you can see the more day-to-day on instagram.

Hope your Monday is less snowy and off to a great start! Oh and to all those blogging gals getting ready to head off to NYFW, consider me insanely jealous. May have to take an instagram break to avoid the crazy bouts of FOMO.

  1. Ummm You look totally adorable in a hat and I love that you can see jusssst a little bump – can’t wait to see your next round of outfit photos! So adorable!

Also, kind of obsessed with those anthro leggings – I may have to check them out! They look like the best faux leather leggings I’ve seen!!

  2. Congrats on your pregnancy! You look like a prego rock star in those black pants!! I agree with you – I might have to take an Instagram break to keep from being uber jealous of those at NYFW!! Wish I could be happy for them all but I’ll just be wishing it was ME!! Glad to find a fellow SBS blogger (and mom like myself!)!
