Black and white stripes usually conjure images of old prison clothes or referees. It’s inevitable. It’s also pretty funny since people in prison break the rules and referees force you to follow them… but I digress.
But those preconceived notions have been thrown to the wind this season and black and white stripes are everywhere (I particularly love the black and white {vertical} stripe pants look). And since I can’t resist a silky blouse, this shirt was the perfect opportunity for me to jump on the trend bandwagon without going too far outside of my typical look.
You know me, I’m just mixing and matching with my go-to look: skinny jeans/pants + silky blouse + heels, blazer optional.
How do you all feel about the black and white stripe trend? Too much referee for you or are you willing it give it a go?

I’ve been looking for a b&w striped shirt because all my other stripes are navy and white. I really like yours, I don’t think it looks jailbird or referee since the placement of the stripes is different.
