I love October but it’s seriously like everyone crams all their events into this month. Okay that may be a bit of an overstatement but with the combo of work + kids + life, it seems like there haven’t been many free days on the calendar. Not complaining because nine times out of ten it’s stuff I really want to do or see but it doesn’t make much time for laundry or lounging (one of which is my favorite activity). It does also keep me away from shopping so at least that helps with my October goal. #nonewthings
In the spirit of mixing it up with what I already have (and avoiding another all black outfit … love ’em so much), I turned to a top almost as versatile but a lot more fun than a basic black blouse. I scored this particular top at Dress & Dwell (Amanda the owner was wearing it and I immediately copied her) but you can find similar options all over the place. I wear this one with work pants and skirts as much as I do with jeans and the silky fabric means I can wear it year round. Seriously, go get one. You won’t regret it.
Everything in this outfit is remixed from my closet with the exception of this fab necklace which I scored when one of my friends hosted a jewelry party (it was last month so I am in the clear). I love it because each layer is it’s own necklace so you can mix-and-match as you please. And on top of that, one side is simple gold and the other is pave so you can flip and flop it based on what you’re feeling.

I feel the same way!! I don’t know why, but it seems like this fall has been kind of crazy. I have so many things to remember and do, it can be a bit much.
I’d say I’ve also been avoiding shopping, but I had a friend’s birthday last week and had to buy a gift…and may have picked up the odd little thing for myself.
Loving this remixed look though. Those jeans look like they were made for you.

Something About That
Couldn’t agree more, but I feel like that about any month anymore. There’s always so much going on around town, which is a good thing. Like you though, lounging is a top priority too.
Love the simple, but chic look.
I never thought I could wear animal print, but I love this!!!
Yes you can Jaclyn! It would love amazing on you.
