what i’m loving lately

Oct 7, 2020

Here’s some things I’m bad at: curling my hair, listening without interrupting and posting regularly on the blog.

I think I’ve been in a rut about posting because the whole world feels like it’s in a rut right now. Where are we going, what are we doing, is this election going to push us all over the edge, are we in the prequel to The Handmaid’s Tale? Not going to lie, I think about that last one more frequently than any sane person should.

I’m just over here trying to respond to emails without losing it and sending up prayers that my kids stay in school (and yes, I know how lucky we are to have them back in the classroom – I am also sending out prayers to everyone doing NTI right now).

That being said, I feel like I gotta keep things going over here and realize I do a really bad job of giving things I post on IG stories a permanent home here. They usually just slip away into the abyss where you can never find them again.

So today I’m sharing a few things I’ve recently posted or talked about on stories. It’s a real mish mash of stuff but that’s life right now so let’s just go with it.

Z Supply Maya Quilted Jacket

Ordered this jacket after seeing the green version on Jacey from Damsel in Dior. I loved the green one but since I have the J. Crew Field Jacket in both the regular downtown version and the quilted coat version, I decided to go with the brown/rust color. This is the coziest, oversized jacket that is so easy to just throw on and go (and there’s plenty of room to wear a light sweater underneath). It comes in a cream version too if winter white is more your bag.

Fit tip: It runs B I G. In a lot of jackets, I order a large but decided to try a medium since I saw reviews saying it ran big. Well, I ended up having to return the medium for a small so I would recommend going at least one size down, if not two, if you order.

Aerie Vote Tee

No matter what side of the aisle you stand on, voting is one of the most important things you can do as an American citizen. My personal opinion is that you shouldn’t complain about the leadership if you don’t cast a ballot.  Obviously this year is exceptionally important for the national races but I would also encourage everyone to pay attention to the down ballot races. Local leadership makes choices that effect your community and those races are often decided by hundreds, if not fewer, votes.

Spanx Faux Leather Leggings For The Win

Let’s not talk about how dirty my mirror is, I promise it had JUST been cleaned.

Instead let’s focus on the leggings. Broke these out again once temps dipped and threw together some easy outfit ideas to take you from running errands to the office to dinner with friends.

If you’re not into the leather look, you can always just do the Spanx Leggings  or Pants (I love the pants) or try the Commando Faux Leather Leggings (I have these too and they have a slightly different look).

Fit tip: They run pretty true to size. You just end up having to do the whole squat and stretch dance when putting them on.

These come in a bunch of other Adidas sponsored teams like Indiana, Kansas, Miami, etc.

Freely Pet Food

Okay so this one is a little random but oh well. I started with a partnership with Freely but now it’s a service I pay for because:

1. Red loves the food

2. I love that it is a reoccurring, scheduled delivery that I don’t have to worry about.

You take a quick quiz to determine the best formula for your pup and then boom, you can have it delivered to your door at the frequency you like. Basically eliminates the bottom of the bag panic. Plus, I order the bone broth for Red and he is the happiest pup on the block when it’s on his food.

I am going to ask them about activating the offer again so I can share it with you all but you get 25% off your first order no matter what.

Okay, if you made it this far – you da best. Basically that’s a quick wrap up of what I’ve been taking pictures of lately. Let me know if you’re into these posts so I can be motivated to keep them coming. Now it’s off to manage some more chaos.
