10 Things Worth Buying from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Jul 12, 2019

Okay, so here it is. My one and ONLY (promise) post on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. If you want to get the scoop on the sale and more importantly, why bloggers go nutso bananas over it – I wrote this post with all the details. Basically, it all comes down to affiliate links and being a lucrative time to make money. But affiliate links have never been a big driver for me, mostly because I share a lot of the same things over and over again and also because I’m always hoping to inspire you to shop your own closet than necessarily buy a million and one things.

So, if you want to see every t-shirt, sweater, boot and more from the sale, this is not the post for you. Honestly, the sale has barely started and i’m already a little over it. That being said, there are some really good deals to be had and I have a few items (like the leather jacket below which I have worn in tons of posts) that i’ve had for sure. The good thing is a lot of items come back year after year (like the jacket) and this year, I was pleasantly surprised to find some diamonds in the rough.

To be honest, last year I spent $98 on the sale. I bought a pair of tennis shoes for Reese, some Spanx leggings and underwear. Exciting stuff, right? But you know what? I didn’t really need any big purchases and I didn’t feel like I missed out. I’d be wary about getting pressured into thinking this sale is the end all, be all. A lot of the basics aren’t the highest quality, so I’d stick to brands you know and love when buying.

Rather than load you down with options, I’ve pulled 10 items that I think are really solid finds – some are old favorites, some are twists on items I already have and some are just seriously good deals that I may shop.

Clare V. Marcelle Suede Backpack – Normally $399, Now $266

I have the leather tote version of this bag and I am in love with it. I bought mine locally at White’s Mercantile but it’s also available here on Nordstrom. My black leather one is not part of the sale but this suede backpack version is and it is so cute. I almost wish I’d waited to get this one instead. We’re planning a trip abroad later this year and I feel like this would be a perfect travel bag.

It’s a splurge but if you’re in a treat yourself kind of mood, you’re going to want to add this to your cart. Oh and if you’re in the market for a tote, the plain tan leather one is also part of the sale.

Sperry Saltwater Waterproof Rain Boots – Normally $119, Now $79

Last year one of my pairs of Sperry Boots was a casualty of the mud and muck at Bourbon & Beyond. So a new pair of these  may be the one bigger purchase I make from the sale this year. This black color is the image that’s available but I know they have them in a few colors.

These are worth snagging now too because they always sell out once fall/winter starts.

Nuna Pipa Lite LX Infant Car Seat 7 Base – Normally $419, Now $314

I used the older version of this car seat with both of my girls and have since recommended it to tons of people. It’s super light and the base is crazy easy to install. This is a legit sale so if you’re pregnant or are looking for a great baby shower gift to go in on with a few friends, this is it.

The stroller is on sale too, marked down $200.

KOTA CROP FAUX LEATHER MOTO JACKET – Normally $95, Now $69

This is my workhorse leather jacket. I wear it all the time when the temperatures drop. It instantly adds interest and edge to even the most basic outfit. Honestly, I could write more about it but you can just look at all the times I’ve worn it here.

Steve Madden Rockstar Booties – Normally $199, Now $79

Okay, so this would be something of an impulse buy for me and I probably don’t need anymore booties but I’m into these. Probably because I am always looking for items to make jeans + t-shirt more exciting. Love the faux snakeskin and the block heel is the perfect height.

Madewell Remi Calf Hair Mules – Normally $88, Now $54

I have a pair of Madewell calf hair leopard loafers that I’ve worn consistently for three or four years (chances are you’ve seen them before). These may be their heir apparent. Especially at $54. Love that they are slides. Such a great office shoe. Thinking I’ll add these to my cart.

NeuLash Lash Enhancing Serum Duo – Normally 190, Now $95

I’ve talked about NeuLash before and it’s regularly one of the best sale buys. Here’s my full NeuLash review but basically, it is a lash serum that actually works. When I was using it regularly my lashes were fuller and much, much longer. Just thinking about how nice they used to look makes me want to order this duo.

I’ve recommended it to tons of people and my mom still uses it religiously. She has really set-back eyes so the serum is awesome to help her lashes open up her eyes.

Kids Gazelle Sneakers – Normally $55, Now $39

Pretty sure Reese needs these little girls Gazelles. But the real deal is just kids sneakers in general. There are Vans, Adidas, Nike and Converse options, so basically something for whatever your son or daughter is into. Kids run through sneakers so fast so it feels like I’m always looking for a new pair for one of them. The options during the sale are legit and all marked down 15 – 20% off.

Nike Epic React Sneakers

These are some of my favorite running shoes. I’ve worn through two pairs and am on the hunt for a new pair. If the discount on these ends up being big enough, I may splurge on a new pair. I wear the 270 to do workouts but they don’t cut it for running. These are just as comfy for runs outside as they are for running errands. Plus, I always get compliments when I wear them.

Stuart Weitzman Darla Over the Knee Boots – Normally $799, Now $495

Here’s one of the seriously big deals. I don’t have a pair of these but I know that people LOVE them and they are classics that will last for years. So when I saw that they were included AND marked down $300 – I figured they were worth sharing. Make sure to jump quick on these though, I imagine they will sell out fast.

More Sneakers

There you have it. I’ll do my best to update this page with more picks from the sale especially when it opens to the public. Another tip, if something sells out – bookmark it and then check on it in a day or two. A lot of things become available again after returns. Happy Shopping!
