Casual Camo

Jun 5, 2017

How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was a bit on the extended side since it kicked off on Thursday with a quick two day trip to St. Louis with the Four Seasons (more on that and details on the million and one places we ate). And if you saw my Instastory, you may have heard that last Wednesday was my last day at my job at Boxcar. First off,  a HUGE thank you so much to everyone who reached out about it. Secondly, I left on really good terms with everyone there and am still a huge fan of the company. And last but not least, lots more details coming soon on my plan moving forward (not being intentionally evasive or vague, just still working out all the details) but I am 100% not quitting my job to blog full-time. While I have crazy respect for the girls that do, I like the balance between a more structured job in PR mixed with the fun opportunities this provides me. I’ve also learned to be better at both sides of the coin from working on both ends.

So now that we’ve tackled that big life event, on to the more frivolous side of things. Over the weekend, I had a fun girl’s dinner at Louvino to belatedly celebrate a friend’s birthday. A solid night of laughing, reminiscing and laughing to the point of tears coupled with wine was just what the doctor ordered. Also, if you’re in Louisville and haven’t been to Louvino yet, what are you waiting for? No really, but if you haven’t been it’s the best for a girl’s night out. All the wine and all the apps or as they prefer to call them, small bites. The warm pretzel may be the best one I’ve ever had and I consider myself somewhat of a pretzel connoisseur. I’m also a sucker for the mussels and their beignets for dessert are insanely good.

Style & Co Off-The-Shoulder Top c/o | Jeffrey Campbell Wedges (again, sorry)
Dear Keaton Hot Pink Tassel Moroccan Straw Clutch

Since it was a night out without a child in site, I could wear this off-the-shoulder top since I knew the only thing I’d need to be lifting was a glass and fork. Paired it with these camo jeans since it was about time I broke out of the denim + white top uniform. When I first got these (in a Trunk Club shipment from Madison), I was a little nervous about what to wear them with but I’ve found them to be just as versatile as traditional denim, especially when it comes to casual nights out or running around town.

And can we talk about this Dear Keaton clutch? It is the cutest and makes any outfit more fun and it’s under $50. Be prepared to see it a lot more this summer since I find myself reaching for it all the time.  Oh and this is #notsponsored but Dear Keaton is one of the cutest online shops. I discovered them when I went to The Southern C Summit earlier this year and it’s like a beachy boutique that you can go to without the long road trip to water. They have a good mix of accessories, clothes, decor and even furniture. If you’re looking for a lunch time beach escape, just browse around there for a little bit.

Can’t wait to see what you do next! The Brussels sprouts at Louvino are amazing… tried to emulate them at home, but sadly couldn’t come close!
