Guest Post from Quinn at Wedding Row KY: Seasonal Soiree

Nov 18, 2011

Lots of firsts this week at Lou What Wear – first giveaway and now, our first guest post. This comes from my blogging bestie Quinn at Wedding Row Kentucky. Quinn and I are birds of a feather in the truest sense of the words and I couldn’t be more excited to share this. She’s not entirely new to the site, you’ve seen her a couple times (here and here), but this is the first {of many} guest post. Enjoy!

I write about weddings every day, so in the spirit of Lou What Wear and all of it’s fashionista findings, let’s talk style. Although when I was creating this little gem, I thought how perfect most of these outfits would be for a winter wedding or engagement party!

I don’t know about you all, but this time of year is my favorite. Thanksgiving is vast approaching and holiday parties are just around the corner. In my opinion, it just doesn’t get much better. Maybe it’s the weather, maybe the food, or maybe the fact that every party dress and ensemble is adorned with sequins from here to Timbuctoo {just can’t get enough!}. My current obsession sparked a post on what to wear during any holiday occasion. Who doesn’t want to get all dolled up and head out to a party? I’ve compiled a collection of some of my favorite looks for party season. Whether it’s an engagement party, holiday bash, a winter wedding, or new year’s eve you’ll be ready for every occasion!

  1. Festive Nails. Nails have become an accessory, so make sure they are as glitter laden as the ornaments on the tree.
  2.

  3. Sequined Jacket. This jacket can easily be paired with a simple black shift dress and tights. Sophisticated with an add of glitz.
  4.

  5. Suede Invitation Clutch. An added hint of emerald green is always a perfect touch to a holiday ensemble!
  6.

  7. Colorblock Necklace. This resin colorblock necklace is such a stunning statement piece that is so easy to pair with solid cocktail dresses.
  8.

  9. Suede Pumps. Black suede – enough said.
  10.

  11. Metallic Heels. Metallic is a neutral these days…perfect for the holiday season.
  12.

  13. Red Lips. A touch of vibrant red jazzes up the inevitable pale winter skin.
  14.

  15. Elastic Waisted Dress. Midnight blue is a fun twist on the every day black.
  16.

  17. Gold Sequin ShiftI love, love, love gold sequins. Everything about this outfit, tights included.
  18.

  19. Velvet Strapless DressVelvet isn’t just some horrible fabric your mom made you wear on holidays when you were young…it’s chic and sexy…ironic?
  20.

  21. Gumdrop StudsA pop of color never hurts.
  22.

  23. Silk Tunic Dress. Royal blue has officially become a holiday color in my eyes.
