Party Dresses for a NYE Party!

Dec 14, 2018

Taking a break from the Christmas rush to jump ahead to one of my favorite nights of the year… New Year’s Eve. Okay, I know some people are out on NYE and think it’s amateur hour or silly but me, I’m all in. Mostly because I love an excuse to party. If wanting to get all dressed up and have an excuse to party with friends is wrong, I don’t want to be right.

I’m usually WAY behind on NYE planning and wait until the last minute (shocker, I’m sure) but this year, Fourth Street Live reached out about sharing details on their big celebration. It has me all  jazzed up to dress up in all things fun, fancy and sparkly. I basically tried on everything sparkly at Dress & Dwell last week looking for party dresses.

But before we talk party dresses (but really, we gotta talk about this one because it’s under $40), let’s talk party plans.

The New Year’s Eve party at Fourth Street Live is like getting five or six parties in one. Not to mention they have the only ball drop in Louisville. They’ll have 100% Poly playing on the main stage counting down to the ball drop and massive confetti explosion (see the pic below for proof).  You can snag all-inclusive VIP tickets that include food, drinks, party favors and, of course, champagne. The VIP packages also cover entrance to some of the venues like Pizza Bar or Tavern on Fourth,  where, I for one, would be play skee-ball and sipping champagne until the countdown. (Seriously, where are my fellow skee-ball lovers?) It’s also the best party if you’re looking to sneak away for a night since you can just walk (or take a quick Uber) from all of the downtown hotels. The cherry on top? You can save $10 if you use code LWWNYE.

Okay, so here’s the part where you might be saying, “But Danielle, I haven’t been down to Fourth Street Live in forever.” And I was in the same boat until recently. But it’s changed a TON in the last few years. They’ve seriously upped the food game and the bars have way more variety (and fun things to do inside). I’d definitely encourage you to check it out … just maybe don’t dress as aggressively as I did when taking these pics.

You guys, I’ve never gotten more (totally warranted and expected) side-eyes than when I took these pics at lunch time last Friday. It didn’t help that it was 20 degrees and my coat made me look like an extra from Mob Wives. Needless to say, Tabitha is a champ.

Dress & Dwell Lexie Shift Dress
(save 25% off with code LWW25 – making it less than $30)
Leopard Coat (old, similar here – code also works for it!)
Ann Taylor Mila Heels
Blow Out by Allie from Dry on the Fly

I totally expected this dress to be blah on me but after trying it on, it may become my new signature LBD. The fact that it’s only $36 kind of blows me away because the quality is really nice and much better than the price tag would suggest. I also love that it has sleeves since I can only deal with one set of extremities being totally freezing in the winter. I paired it with all black accessories but it would look so festive with a pair of red or gold heels for New Year’s or the holidays. Or jazz it up with some bold earrings.

So go grab your tickets and this dress and you’ll be all set for New Year’s for under $125. Basically no excuse for not committing to a night out.

Thanks so much to Fourth Street Live for sponsoring this post. All opinions, random ramblings and thoughts are my own.
Oh and check out this ball drop + confetti combo!
