Sneakers, Dresses and Denim Oh My! The Shopbop Semi-Annual Sale

Mar 3, 2020

Remember when I used to be a good, consistent blogger? Yeah me neither.

Work has been a bear recently and honestly, there are not enough hours in the day. Consider this my formal request for 2 – 4 more hours a day. Going to be key in making sure I get my at together for Derby season (which is sneaking up on me WAY too quickly).

As always, that’s neither here nor there. Today, we’re talking about the Shopbop sale. This is one of the sales I always share because it’s a good one. Not one of those 40% off sales that happens every other weekend but a once a season set of deals on brands that rarely get marked down. It starts today and runs through March 9th at 4 am (random but if you’re a last minute night-owl, you can sneak in your order before it ends). It’s a spend more, save more sale so you’ll get 15% off any order of $200+, 20% off order of $500+ and 25% off orders of $800+. Not advocating going all the way up to $800 but if you’ve been eyeing a designer bag or want to do a full-on shopping spree, nows the time.

If you’re already planning your Derby outfits (props to you if so), it’s an opportune time to splurge on a dress since you can save up to 25% off. I know there are a ton of bloggers talking about the sale so I’m just going to share a few of my favorite pieces along with a couple things I’m eyeing. And if you want to start planning your Derby look, I’ve pulled together a few dresses I’m loving that would be perfect for a day at the track.

A. Golde Denim Shorts

The denim shorts you’ve been looking for all your life. Fit in the waist but not tight on your thighs. I’m a thick thigh gal and I loathe when jean shorts are snug around the thighs but I hate sizing up a ton to get the right look + fit. These A.Golde Parker Shorts are pricey but totally worth it. Still looking for the perfect pair that fit the sizing bill but aren’t distressed but until then, these ones will remain my favorite.

Veja Sneakers

I love these sneakers. I’ve received some questions about whether they are comfortable and worth the price. Here’s my thoughts: so they are not the most comfortable off the bat. They are a little heavier than standard sneakers and a bit stiff BUT give them time. After a week or two of wear, they were 10x more comfortable. Plus, they go with everything and feel a little more dressed up than some of my adidas pairs. They’re definitely worth it. I wouldn’t necessarily wear them for a full day of walking around but they are my favorite “fashion sneakers.” I’m thinking about getting the black and white pair during the sale to wear with the majority of my closet (feel like it’s all I wear).

See by Chloe Mara Crossbody Bag

This bag was my biggest splurge last year and it’s such a good crossbody bag. It’s roomy enough to fit my giant wallet along with sunglasses, keys, phone, etc. But it’s small enough to pass the stadium standards and light enough to carry all day. I used this throughout my trip to Europe and it was so clutch. It keeps its shape and is so sturdy. I’ve had it for over six months and it still looks brand new despite being in heavy rotation. This color isn’t available on Shopbop anymore but there are a couple other colors and similar styles that are equally adorable. So worth scoring the 20% off right now.

AG Farrah Skinny Jeans

These are my OG jeans. You all know I love Good American denim (wrote a love note to them earlier this year) and thankfully, they are in the sale BUT these are my original loves. The are the ideal mid-rise, so if you don’t love a high-waist jean these are for you. They are a staple in their line and come in a ton of washes, colors and levels of distress. I’ve had two pairs for almost two years and they fit as great today as they did on the day I got them in the mail. Yes, a bit of a splurge but totally worth it.

Derby Dresses!

Okay, this feels too soon but here are some of my favorite finds from the sale. The last two years my Derby dresses have been from Shopbop (I LOVED this lilac off the shoulder number from two years ago), there’s always so many new options so you won’t end up seeing your dress on a dozen of girls at the track.
