A Fresh Look Inside The Willows

Jul 22, 2019

When I was a kid, I used to watch the movie The Little Rascals all the time. To this day, I can still quote almost the entire movie.  Clearly I loved it, but I think the thing that I loved the most was their clubhouse. I always wanted to hang out in a treehouse/clubhouse with my best friends. You’re probably wondering what this has to do with anything but after touring the new renovations at The Willows Apartments earlier this month, I’m wondering if I can get my friends together to throw in on our own clubhouse apartment there.

This is totally feasible and unrealistic but it would be great to have a place that’s decorated just how you want it (no worries about being too girly), that stays clean, is free from all those crumbs and socks your kids leave everywhere and has a closet big enough to live inside. Not saying I want to move away from my family, love those mess-makers to death, I just want a place to go where I know things will be put back in the right place and where there is no chance of stepping on slime.

Okay, now that I’ve put that pipe dream on hold, I’ll get to the point of all this. Last year, the team at The Willows invited Reese and I over for a pool party (which has some of my favorite blog pictures ever) so this year, they invited me back to hang with them at their monthly Food Truck night and to check out the renovations as well as some of their new amenities.

The apartments are located off Hurstbourne Lane, just about halfway between Shelbyville Rd and 264 with easy access to the highway. It’s also in that sweet spot where everything is about five minutes away. It’s super close to Oxmoor Mall, there is a Kroger, Lucky’s Market and Aldi all within a couple miles and tons of restaurants right down the street. I’ll mention this again later but in case you’re more of a pictures person and want to skip over some of the post – you can receive $250 off your first month’s rent if you mention Lou What Wear. So even if you’re not on the hunt for an apartment, definitely share this with any recent grads, transplants to the area or a friend looking for a new spot.

Before I get into all their amenities and fun events, they wanted me to share a look inside their recently renovated units. Guys, you know how I love a closet and these units have some of the nicest, custom closets I’ve ever seen. I mean, until I updated mine, it didn’t hold a candle to these. So nice.

For those of you far less obsessed with closets, the entire units have been completely renovated from top to bottom with everything from new flooring, cabinets, light fixtures, hardware, tile, backsplash and countertops. It’s all very modern, crisp and clean. Oh and the bathroom is HUGE. I mean, just take a look at the pics.

This Loft apartment includes designer custom closets, modern kitchen, LED lighting throughout, wood burning fireplace, washer and dryer in the unit, vaulted ceilings, a covered balcony and security system. I mean, come on. So nice.

We also stopped in to check out one of the two-bedroom units and it so freaking spacious and nice. I mean, check out this bathroom. I could easily move in to just the bathroom/closet.

While I clearly love the units at The Willows, the one thing I am continuously impressed with is the community-focused amenities and events they host. We were there for their monthly Food Truck night, where people can grab an easy dinner and sit by the pool or hang out in their swanky clubhouse.

They put out a spread of drinks – beers, Truly, white wine and rose, sodas – along with snacks and desserts. The place was full of people hanging out and enjoying happy hour. Their team really focuses on the details and everything is really thoughtfully done (I mean how cute is that mint cooler?). They even had a local boutique there for a pop-up shop so you could pick out something new for the weekend.

If you are moving to Louisville or new to the area and looking for a place where you can live but also connect with people outside of just work and the usual routes, this would be perfect. Everyone was super friendly and both myself and Tabitha were so impressed with the event. And that was before we got to sneak a peek at their new Pet Spa… more on that in one quick second.

Last but not least, we stuck our heads into their new Pet Spa which is legit, the cutest. It has everything you need to wash and groom your pet without mucking up your nice apartment. They even put out aprons for you to use and treats for your pup. I know I would have killed to have one of these at our old condo because anytime we attempted to give our dog a bath, the entire place was soaking wet and a huge mess.

Okay, so I know this post was SUPER long but if you’re in the market for a new apartment, I can’t say enough nice things about The Willows. The entire complex is full of green space, they have a full fitness center, tennis courts, fire pits, pool, outdoor kitchens, car washing station (um, yes please) and a gorgeous clubhouse. They regularly host events like the Food Truck event as well as pool parties, pop-up shops, holiday parties and a resident appreciation event.

If you want to see more pictures from inside the clubhouse and pool area, check out this post. The Willows is also offering $250 off your first month’s rent if you mention Lou What Wear. If you’re interested in learning more, you can call them at 502.244.1611 or just visit ntswillows.com
